House of Paradise – Zokizizwe, Katlehong (HOP)

210 Square meter roof repairs to previously poorly constructed structures classrooms and kitchen:

• Fitment of Ceiling boards and Rhino light in the same rooms.
• Waterproofing.
• Repainting of all rooms inside with pastel colour paint.
• Supply and install 100 Square meters of paving.
• Donation of much needed toilet, cleaning and food supplies including frozen chicken and fresh vegetables.

The site and inspection and needs assessment highlighted and urgent need for:

• Suitable kinder garden toilets – current adult toilets do not have Toilet training ladder and seats required for use of adult toilets.
• Number of toilets – insufficient for use of Staff and children at care centre.
• The external rain water and tap location at toilets without basin or runoff facilities, causes a water morass making it difficult for children and staff to move around.
• The building infrastructure maintenance is poor and could cause injury. Management of the centre were made aware of the above.
